Water Damage Claims

A report by Verisk Analytics found that 2.05% of homeowners filed an insurance claim for water damage between 2013  and 2017 which is a significant increase from 2005 to 2009 and shows a clear trend. The report also showed that other types of insurance claims have declined in frequency over the same time.

Insurance companies paid 13 billion in water damage claims in 2017, with the average cost per payout being $10,000.

Homes are getting older, and the chance of having plumbing failures increases as time goes on. When pipes burst, not only are your valuables such as furniture in danger of being lost, but also the fixtures inside your home such as kitchen and bathroom cabinets, flooring, and appliances might get damaged and need to be replaced.

One of the biggest problems with water damage inside your home is the hidden damage. If insulation inside your walls is wet, it may stay wet for long enough for mold to form. Nobody wants hidden fungi and unhealthy mold in their homes that can create a dangerous situation and could affect the health of the occupants of the house.
